Health system measures in Ghana – COVID-19 – April 2020

The health system measures put into place in Ghana to contain the spread of COVID-19 are:

* March 28: Cost of fund transfers decreased for mobile money in order to encourage the use of mobile money rather than cash for hygiene reasons (sending up to GHS100 for free and 100% to 300% increase in the daily transaction limits for mobile money transactions).

* March 11: Ghanaian Cedi equivalent to US$100 million to support preparedness and response plan from the government to fund expansion of infrastructure, purchase of materials and equipment, and public education; earmarking of additional funds for test kits, pharmaceuticals, equipment and hospital beds.
