The health system measures put into place in liberia to contain the spread of COVID-19 are:
*The authorities are hoping to finalize a COVID-19 preparedness plan in conjunction with the donor community, and the draft is still evolving. The World Bank has to date disbursed about USD 4 million for actions under the plan from its overall funding envelope. The plan includes the support to health care workers, purchase and repair of health equipment, procurement of drugs and other medical supplies, deployment of surge staff to contact tracing activities, border areas, rapid response teams, training, planning, communications and information sharing, staffing and equipping laboratories, and logistical and supply support.
*The Central Bank of Liberia (CBL) has suspended fees and charges for most electronic transfers and point-of-sale outlets used by merchants and mobile money operators, in order to better facilitate the use of electronic payments; and increased allowable daily limits. The bank has also increased the allowable daily and aggregate limits for mobile money transactions for a period of three months.
*April 8: Call upon all retired health workers in Liberia to join with their counterparts to reinforce capabilities and strengths to fight COVID-19.
*March 21: Setting up of a dedicated hotline to report people who show signs and symptoms to the relevant health and security authorities.
*March 13: Establishment of a Special Presidential Advisory Committee on Coronavirus (SPACOC) and an Executive Committee on Coronavirus (ECOC) under the umbrella of the President
