A hybrid seminar on healthcare climate transformation on 5 March 2025 will explore tools and funding strategies for sustainable, low-carbon healthcare.
The Climate Action Accelerator is set to host a hybrid seminar on Healthcare Climate Transformation: From Tools to Investments for Sustainable Funding on 5 March 2025. The event will bring together global experts, policymakers, and financiers to discuss the challenges and opportunities of integrating climate resilience and low-carbon models into healthcare systems.
With the healthcare sector contributing 4.4% of global emissions, the seminar aims to bridge the gap between strategy and implementation by showcasing practical tools and methodologies for sustainable healthcare transformation. Discussions will focus on diagnosing challenges, financial resource allocation, and operationalising the health-climate agenda. Participants will gain insights into key tools that help healthcare facilities assess risks, measure carbon footprints, and plan for sustainable investments.
Panellists will include Agnès Soucat (AFD), Levani Naidoo (Western Cape Government), Alexandre Robert (Climate Action Accelerator), and Jit Sohal (National University of Singapore), moderated by Professor Bob Mash (Stellenbosch University).
