The Council of Ministers of October 18, 2017 in Burkina Faso appointed the heads of the 3 programs of the budget-programs. It should be remembered that these managers are accountable to the National Assembly for spending the Ministry’s budget, now restructured under these 3 programs. In addition, a specific position in charge of the CSU has been created within the Cabinet of the Ministry of Health, demonstrating the importance attached to the issue by the government and the visionary quality of the Ministry. Dr Pierre Yaméogo was until recently Director of Health Establishments, and was responsible for implementing the free health care policy. He is also recognized by the Ministry of Health and by the PTFs for his ongoing work on the reform of strategic purchasing and his active participation in the RAMU dossier with the Technical Secretary of the AMU (structure within the Ministry of Employment, Civil Service and Social Protection in charge of implementing the RAMU law until the creation of the National Health Insurance Fund).
