The Indonesian government has provided Rp255.3 trillion, or 9.4 percent of the total planned state expenses of Rp2,708.7 trillion, for the health sector in the 2022 State Budget draft.
The health budget will be spent for the COVID-19 pandemic, the health system reforms, the stunting rate reduction, and the sustainability of the National Health Insurance Program or the so-called ‘Jaminan Kesehatan Nasional (JKN)’.
The government response to the COVID-19 pandemic will focus on implementing the testing, tracing, and treatment program, the vaccination program, and strengthening the dissemination and supervision of health protocols.
For the health system, the government plans for improvement in several aspects such as health care facility improvement, primary and referral health services reform, national health resilience enhancement, and so on. To read more, click here
