Laos plans to purchase additional Covid-19 vaccines in 2022 because vaccines from the COVAX initiative will be ended by this year.
Currently, a total of 1,387,083 people received the first dose or 18.9% of the total population. While the second dose vaccinations covered 1,233,395 people or 16.8% of the population. The national vaccination program expects to cover 50 percent of the total population by the end of this year.
However, based on estimation by the Ministry of Health, World Bank, World Health Organization, and UNICEF, the budget USD 100 million would be required to vaccinate the whole population. To read more, click here.
