Mali-RAMED: 3 million people to be registered by 2022


After Bamako and Sikasso,

proceeded, in the town of Kayes, this Friday June 17, 2022 to the

the launch ceremony for the enrolment of three (3) million indigents.

This policy of helping the needy part of the Universal Health Insurance Scheme (RAMU) is an important point in the government action plan initiated by the Transition’s highest authorities. The Minister of Health welcomed and appreciated the effective presence of regional officials involved in the enrolment of 3 million beneficiaries in the medical assistance scheme (RAMED). According to Dieminatou SANGARÉ the   is to enable every Malian to receive medical care in Mali. to all levelx of our pyramid. This The vision is built around three key areas:


  • Develop

    geographically accessible quality healthcare services;

  • Implement

    set up a system for financing health care demand through a third-party payment mechanism with a view to achieving universal health coverage;

  • Bringing

    State assistance to all populations in need.

The Ministry of Health and Social Development, through the Agence Nationale d’Assistance Médicale (ANAM), is responsible for the RAMED component. The Minister has invited all players to commit themselves fully to achieving these objectives. To achieve this, social development technical services need to identify and raise awareness. As for local officials and mayors, they are responsible for drawing up indigent registers, issuing certificates of indigence and paying financial contributions.


During the ceremony,

highlighted. A certificate of good example was awarded to this municipality.
