The Mandatory Health Insurance Fund of Kyrgyzstan has fully covered the needs of healthcare organizations to purchase medicines and supplies in the first quarter of 2024. The fund reported that it has reimbursed medical services provided in this time-frame in full.
To ensure timely and high-quality medical care for patients, the Fund allocated 443.7 million soms for the purchase of medicines and medical products, such as syringes, systems, gloves and others for the first quarter of 2024. These funds were provided to 149 healthcare organizations operating under the Single Payer system. The Fund reminds that as the country gives more financial and managerial autonomy to providers, they in turn must plan their expenses accordingly and provide patients with at least the necessary medicines from the List of Essential Medicines and medical products in accordance with the State Guarantee Program (benefits package).
