MOH and UEM public university (the oldest and most important in Mozambique) are starting a process of costing of health services, focused on hospitals.
The objective is to know the costs of service provision, as well as to train hospital managers in cost accounting.
This effort is complementary to others carried out in the country, especially referred to the most prevalent diseases in the country and those which receive vertical funding (HIV). GIZ/P4H supported a diagnostic on cost accounting capacities in 2020.
