The USAID Local Health System Sustainability Project is working with social protection programs in Cambodia to create a data-sharing infrastructure that links databases of all social health protection programs across country.
Cambodia has committed to improve access to health care for all citizens. One of main challenges is no data linkages between different social protection programs. The USAID Local Health System Sustainability Project (LHSS) is working with programs such as the National Social Protection Council, the IDPoor Program, and the National Social Assistance Fund to create a data-sharing infrastructure that links social health protection programs across the country.
The project aims to alleviate the burden of managing patients from different programs and facilitate eligible enrollment in social service benefits. Using demographic data, the registry will serve as the ‘digital glue’ connecting all social protection databases across the country, while safeguarding clients’ personal medical information.
Establishing a network of interoperable data management systems offers significant potential to transform Cambodia’s social safety-net ecosystem and enhancing efficiency in delivering subsidized social services.
