Nepal has an agreement with GAVI, the Vaccine Alliance, to procure 4 million doses of the Moderna coronavirus vaccine. The vaccine purchase is financed by the World Bank through the COVAX cost-share option. The expected date of vaccine delivery is March 2022. These vaccines will increase the vaccine coverage to reach 72 percent of Nepalese population and at the same time, expand the vaccination to cover children whose aged 12 to 17 years.
