On Wednesday September 29 in Niamey, the Minister of Public Health, Population and Social Affairs, Mr Illiassou Idi Maïnassara, took delivery of medicines and medical consumables donated by the Initiative Santé Solidarité Sahel (I3S) project for children aged 0-5 and pregnant women in the Dosso region. This support, worth 156,994,883 Fcfa, demonstrates France’s commitment to making an effective contribution to the growing availability of medicines, an essential pillar for improving the health of the population.
This donation of medicines and medical consumables is part of the recapitalization of the Dosso region in terms of inputs. According to France’s ambassador to Niger, SEM Alexandre Garcia,
It follows an initial order placed in 2019 by the Ministry with UNICEF for over 1.3 billion FCFA,” he recalled. Mr. Alexandre Garcia also pointed out that, in line with the Ministry’s policy on the input supply chain, purchasing, storage and delivery to the last mile are entirely managed by the ONPPC. “Until then, ONPPC had only managed the reception, storage and last-mile delivery of inputs under the previous order with UNICEF in particular. So this is our first experience, and we’re fully satisfied.
