Niger: Towards the revision of the law on private healthcare practice

In front of the National Assembly for his general policy statement, the Head of the Government of Niger declared that the Government intends to make efforts to improve access to and quality of healthcare services and care, in particular through the construction and/or rehabilitation of healthcare infrastructures, the improvement of technical and logistical platforms in healthcare facilities, the strengthening of human resource capacities, and the improvement of availability and accessibility to healthcare products.

The promotion of public health will be reflected in the introduction of mechanisms to protect against the financial risk of illness, with the introduction of Universal Health Coverage for the population and the promotion of mutual health insurance schemes. 

In his address to Parliament, Prime Minister Ouhoumoudou Mahamadou emphasized  that the Government of Niger intends to adopt the revised law on private healthcare practice.
