Greetings from P4HC+ Secretariat!
During the period since our April-2018 issue, substantial progress has been made regarding health financing for Universal Health Coverage. This includes the establishment of the National Social Protection Council and its secretariat and the extension of social health insurance to (former) civil servants, veterans and informal workers and other funds for health care.
In March 2019, P4HC+ partners gathered to present and discuss experience, plans and potential options for expanding universal health coverage to informal sector populations. The upcoming P4HC+ Meeting will focus on monitoring for UHC by taking stock of existing and planned initiatives and discussing eventual ways forward to ensure that all people can get the health services they need without financial hardship.
