P4H Coordinator Tanzania appointed to be member of RBF Steering Committee

The Ministry of Health and Social Welfare (MOHSW) is currently finalising its Health Financing Strategy, which is oriented towards the achievements of results and thus incorporates Results-Based Financing (RBF) to improve the sector’s performance.  The RBF system will be implemented according to the RBF design document developed by the Ministry.  The Steering Committee, which was formed on the 15th May 2015, is a high level body which will be responsible to provide overall direction and guidance throughout the course of RBF implementation.

The Committee will be meeting quarterly and will be chaired by the Permanent Secretary of the MOHSW.

The tasks of the RBF Steering Committee will entail:

  • Provision of strategic and policy direction related to RBF
  • High-level monitoring of RBF system implementation and results
  • Ensuring coordination and timely implementation
  • Review of progress reports by the National RBF Team
  • Review and commenting on annual work plans and budgets
  • Ensuring agreed performance targets and timelines are met
  • Address critical issues that could hinder implementation
  • Mobilize resources for RBF implementation
