The P4H coordination desk is currently discussing the option of developing an MOU for collaboration with the health department of the EAC secretariat. The main areas for potential collaboration have been identified as:
- Strengthen social health protection (SHP) and Health Financing (HF) for UHC advocacy, leadership, governance, coordination and harmonization in the EAC Partner States (PS) and at regional level
- Establishment of an EAC sub-regional network on SHP/ HF for UHC (continental & global linkages)
- Develop capacity of the EAC secretariat and individual PSs according to needs
- Support the portability of SHP
P4H and EAC are currently still reviewing the details of the MOU (refer to related draft document).
