Jean-François Caremel has been P4H/SFHA’s Focal Person in Niger since August 21.
SFHA members helped to define its role with the Niger Ministry of Health and to recruit its staff at the WHO country office.
Trained as an economist and political scientist, since 2011 he has been conducting socio-anthropological research in Niger on the functioning of healthcare systems and the implementation of reforms at local level.
Before joining P4H, Jean-François worked on health system strengthening interventions and the promotion of strategies to improve access to healthcare in Africa, particularly in the Sahel.
As P4H/SFHA’s focal person in Niger, Jean-François Caremel will apply his skills through operational research activities to promote the coordination and alignment of partner organizations and Niger’s Ministry of Health on health financing and UHC issues.
