The Ministry of Health (MoH) requests GIZ’s assistance in the development of a concept paper for a regional conference among countries in the East African Community (EAC). The overall objective of the conference is to highlight various approaches for the development and implementation of a comprehensive social health protection system for the East African countries. The conference will contribute to the EAC’s ongoing evidence-based efforts to meet social health protection needs of its population, aimed at universal coverage and guaranteed access to health services. The conference is planned for June 2012. At this stage, the MoH and the Ministry of the East African Community (MINEAC) are exploring possible funding from the P4H partners and technical assistance in the preparation for the conference.
