The third instalment of PMNCH’s Ready, Set, Implement Dialogue Series on 10 December 2024 will focus on improving financing to reduce mortality and leverage benefits for women, children, and adolescents’ health and well-being. This high-level dialogue will bring together ministers of health, policymakers, healthcare leaders, donors, and experts to discuss financing solutions to address the health needs of women, children, and adolescents. The dialogue will highlight the importance of leveraging existing investment cases that show the positive returns on investments in women’s, children’s, and adolescents’ health (WCAH).
Reducing mortality and improving the health of women, children, and adolescents remains a critical challenge to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 3.1 and SDG 3.2. With just five years remaining to meet the 2030 deadline, urgent action is required to accelerate progress.
The session will explore innovative mechanisms to mobilise investments, such as intersectoral financing and public-private partnerships. Discussions will cover equity, investment gaps, and practical strategies to increase investments in SRMNCAH (sexual, reproductive, maternal, newborn, child, and adolescent health) to address the needs of the world’s most vulnerable populations. The dialogue promises to offer critical insights into how financing can drive health progress for the most underserved communities.
