PROTECT project receives grant to strengthen pandemic response in South America

Under the One Health approach in Latin America and the Caribbean, the Pan American Health Organization and the World Bank launched the PROTECT project.

The PROTECT Project was launched by PAHO and the World Bank with funding from a nearly $17 million grant from the Pandemic Fund.

Its main objective is to strengthen early warning surveillance, modernize and increase laboratory efficiency and promote regional coordination for a more effective and collaborative pandemic response in the border regions of Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Paraguay and Uruguay.
