The Council of Private Investors in Benin (CIPB) in collaboration with the Benin Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI Bénin) organized a round table on health insurance. Employers and employees took part in this conclave, which opened on November 5 in Cotonou.
“Health insurance: a key issue for employee health and business performance”. This was the central theme of the discussions held in the conference room of the Benin Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The discussions, which lasted 4 hours, enabled players in Benin’s social protection ecosystem to present employers with solutions for managing their employees’ health.
Health insurance models in major countries such as the USA, France and Spain were presented to participants by François MASSON, Insurance Broker and Resource Person on the government project ARCH (Assurance pour le Renforcement du Capital Humain).
The inaugural presentation revealed that “private health insurance in Benin represents around US$30 million in sales, 40% of P&C sales AND 160,000 policyholders, i.e. 1.2% of the population”.
Several other themes, such as “optimizing reimbursement processes and mapping fraud and sanctions”, as well as “the challenges of health insurance for a company”, were developed during this participative round table.
