Strengthening Health Technology Assessment (HTA) in Ethiopia

WHO’s collaborative efforts with Ethiopia’s Ministry of Health are advancing the institutionalization of Health Technology Assessment (HTA), bolstering informed decision-making and resource allocation in the country’s healthcare sector.

The World Health Organization (WHO) has provided technical support to the Ministry of Health (MoH) in developing the Roadmap for Institutionalizing Health Technology Assessment (HTA) in Ethiopia. This collaborative effort involved a series of activities, including team training and several consultative workshops. Key milestones include:

  1. Consultative Workshop for the Roadmap for Institutionalizing Health Technology Assessment (HTA) in Ethiopia, held from March 29th to 31st, 2023.
  2. Validation Workshop for the Roadmap for Institutionalizing Health Technology Assessment (HTA) in Ethiopia, conducted from October 9th to 11th, 2023.

These efforts aim to enhance the health technology assessment framework in Ethiopia, facilitating informed decision-making and resource allocation in healthcare.
