Sudan receives over 350,000 doses of COVID-19 vaccines

On 11 September, 2021 Sudan received a shipment of 357,000 doses of AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccines from Germany. This marks the fourth shipment of COVID-19 vaccine doses Sudan has received  since March 2021. Previously, the country received over one million doses of AstraZeneca vaccines, 828,000 doses from the COVAX facility and over 218,000 doses from France. In addition, over 600,000 single dose Johnson & Johnson (J&J) COVID-19 vaccine donated by the united states through the COVAX facility.

Dr. Yosra Mohammed Osman, the undersecretary of the federal ministry of health said

 

Our hope is that we reach 8 million of our population with the COVID vaccination by the end of the year as we continue our fight against COVID-19 with our partners. The pandemic has inspired a great sense of cooperation and joint efforts between countries with hopes to curb this virus and return to a normal life
