The Nation reported that Thailand has introduced a health insurance coverage scheme for tourists in case of accidents subsidized by the government, starting from January 2024.
Furthermore, the article adds, Tourism and Sports Minister Sudawan Wangsuphakijkosol said at the launch of the campaign, “ ‘The campaign, a collaboration between the Tourism and Sports and Public Health ministries, aims to assure foreign tourists that they will be properly taken care of while they are in the kingdom’ ”.
The newly introduced program ensures that foreign tourists receive medical coverage for accidents, organ loss, disability, or death. This initiative will improve financial protection and facilitate access to medical care in the event of accidents for foreign tourists visiting Thailand.
