The Lebanese National Social Security Fund (NSSF) serves a particularly important role in the wake of the current crisis engulfing the country, as medical bills have significantly inflated and even the most prominent hospitals are struggling to maintain their operation.
To ensure continued medical coverage, the NSSF has requested the Finance Ministry to release 4 trillion Lebanese pounds (2.6 trillion USD) in dues. If the sum is not paid up, more than 1.6 million people will be vulnerable to out of pocket payments for health care services in Lebanon.
