A World Health Organization (WHO) mission, accompanied by specialists from the Ministry of Health, visited the Syrdarya region to study and analyze the implementation of the state medical insurance system, launched as a pilot project in the region.
The mission met with Yusuf Mirkhanov, First Deputy Head of the Syrdarya regional healthcare department, and other experts to discuss progress and future plans. They also visited the Gulistan City Medical Association, its central polyclinic, the 2nd family polyclinic, and the 5th family polyclinic under the Boyovut district medical association. The mission reviewed medical services organized under the state insurance system and engaged with family doctors, nurse practitioners, and other specialists, providing advice and recommendations.
— “The meeting with the WHO mission was invaluable,…They emphasized that the core goal of state medical insurance is to expand and improve the quality of medical services, bringing healthcare closer to the people, rather than requiring people to travel for care,” said Murod Kopaysinov, Chief Physician of the Gulistan City Medical Association.
