Timor-Leste has launched the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccination campaign for children aged 12 to 17 years, aiming to reduce the impacts of COVID as well as to protect children and their families.
The vaccination will minimize severe illness, hospitalization, and deaths due to COVID-19 among children. The children vaccination program will be administered in line with Timor-Leste’s National COVID-19 vaccine rollout plan. The vaccination will be administered at assigned vaccination posts, including schools.
100,620 doses of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine have been delivered to Timor-Leste on 16 October 2021. The vaccines came from the donation of the Government United States allocated through the COVAX facility. To read more, please click.
