TheInstitut National d’Assurance Maladie du Togo (INAM) celebrates 10 years of service. All in all, the benefits offered to policyholders were positive. The celebration is also an opportunity for the institution to take stock of its services and collaboration with its partners. To this end, an INAM team visited the Centre Hospitalier Universitaire (CHU) campus earlier this week. The aim is to see what needs to be improved to provide better care for policyholders.
As a management pillar, INAM has always worked to better understand the expectations of beneficiaries and provide appropriate responses to ensure their satisfaction. After opening regional delegations, we set up 16 liaison offices in busy hospitals to inform, educate and advise users. In 10 years, the number of contracted service providers totaled 1,442.
Nearly 430,000 beneficiaries in 10 years
Born of the political will and commitment of the country’s highest authorities to facilitate access to quality healthcare for the Togolese population, the compulsory health insurance scheme for public and assimilated employees was instituted by law N°2011-003 of February 18, 2011. Management of this scheme is entrusted to the Institut National d’Assurance Maladie (INAM), whose mission is to cover the risks associated with illness, non-occupational accidents and illnesses, and maternity for public employees and their dependants.
