P4H-the Global Network for Health Financing and Social Protection in collaboration with the Institute for Global Health Policy Research of Japan and Asia Pacific Observatory organized an event on Health Financing and Asia Regional Networking during the UHC Forum 2017 held in Tokyo from 12-15 December 2017. Dr Menkhanym Kaldybaeyva, Deputy Director of the Republican Center for Health Development (RCHD) was invited to represent Kazakhstan, which is a new member of the P4H Steering Group since September 2017. She was one of the panelists together with Mrs Xenia Scheil-Adlung from ILO, Mrs Irina Nikolic, World Bank and Mr Heiko Warnken, Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) of Germany. In her speech, Dr Menkhanym emphasized the importance of stakeholder engagement and role of networking in policy settings and reforms aimed at UHC. She provided exemplary highlights based on her country experiences in developing and introducing social health insurance bill and its implementation arrangements. She also noted Kazakhstan`s potentials to contribute to global, regional and country level P4H partnerships for UHC. She informed that the RCHD of Kazakhstan is exploring possibilities to organize P4H joint events in 2018 and especially, during the 40th Anniversary Conference of the Alma Ata Declaration on Primary Health Care.
