Update on the development of the Health Financing Strategy (HFS).
Today CHAI and UNZA met to discuss the HFS. Progress to date this year: after dividing up sections based on a WHO outline, UNZA and CHAI have separately researched and written sections on context and background of health financing in Zambia. The documents are currently being fused together and edited. This situational analysis is now being used to identify the key issues and problems related to health financing in Zambia.
We have scheduled a meeting for March 30 with MOH, MCDMCH, UNZA, CDC, and CHAI to present what has been done, discuss what issues/problem areas are most important to address in the strategy, begin discussing potential reforms, identify gaps in data/information, and discuss what other stakeholders should be consulted.
