In many countries, instability is undermining the state’s ability to exercise its sovereign functions and provide basic services to its population, to the point of undermining its legitimacy. These “fragile” situations raise major challenges for progress towards universal health coverage (UHC). Among other things, they call into question the generic proposals made for healthcare financing. In this context, WHO and AFRAFRA have organized the webinar “Financing Universal Health Coverage despite instability” which took place on February 10, 2022.
In this webinar, participants examined the case of countries faced with crises that are spatially isolated, but which drag on over time: how can we stay the course towards the CSU in such a context?
