This day 03.06.2019, the Chadian Parliament voted, unanimously of the deputies present and represented, the law instituting Universal Health Coverage in Chad. The adoption of this law paves the way for the implementation of the Health Insurance Scheme (DAS), which provides for three schemes: (i) the Health Insurance Scheme for salaried workers (ASS), (ii) the Health Insurance Scheme for self-employed workers (ASI) and (iii) the Medical Assistance Scheme for the Destitute (AMED).
According to the Ministerial Supervisory Authority, DAS will be introduced gradually, starting with the medical assistance scheme for the needy.
