A webinar on financial protection hosted by the EU Health Policy Platform on 4 June 2024 presents new evidence in 40 countries, highlights the policy choices, and shows what countries in Europe and central Asia are doing to reduce financial hardship, with a spotlight on Belgium, France and Spain.

The webinar will:
- feature new evidence on financial protection in 40 countries, with a spotlight on Belgium, France and Spain
- highlight the policy choices that undermine financial protection, particularly in primary care settings
- show what countries in Europe are doing to reduce financial hardship
- address the following questions: Why do many countries fail to cover the whole population? How can counties mitigate the negative effects of co-payments? Can governments afford to pay for financial protection? Is private health insurance the answer?
