Ministry of Health has requested WHO support in three specific areas:
(a) a universal health coverage strategy
(b) a health financing strategy for UHC
(c) review of the health policy and plan in line with the UHC strategy
Sundar Gopalan joins WHO country office as HF advisor/coordinator. The TOR include:
- Support to MoH in policy/strategy development and dialogue in UHC related areas (health financing and systems strengthening )
- Support to MoH in reviewing and revising existing policies and strategies as needed to support the UHC effort including disease specific strategies
- Support to MoH for systematic alignment of multiple development partner/donor contributions to the national UHC strategy
- Serve as the P4H in-country representative and, through consultation and consensus, establish a platform/mechanism for systematic long-term coordination of donor contributions in the area of health financing, to reinforce (3) above (and which could serve for broader consolidated coordination on UHC and HSS as needed e.g. the International Health Partnership)
