This interactive workshop will bring together some thirty representatives from the public and private sectors to achieve three objectives together. Firstly, we will examine the informal workforce and review the efforts of the health and non-health sectors to provide social protection to this majority of the Togolese population. Secondly, we will develop an understanding of the lessons learned in extending health coverage to informal workers, including global approaches to health financing. Finally, we will develop proposed strategies for extending health coverage to informal workers in Togo. The expected outcomes of the workshop are: to strengthen collaboration and consensus among stakeholders, to propose key inputs for national strategies to extend health coverage, and to propose an action plan for the validation and implementation of the most feasible strategies proposed during the workshop.
