Workshop on the collective action initiatives as part of the implementation of UHC - P4H Network

Workshop on the collective action initiatives as part of the implementation of UHC

From August 21 to 22, 2024, a workshop was held to assess the Collective Action Initiatives (CAI) in Cameroon as part of the implementation of Universal Health Coverage (UHC). The conclave brought together members of the L4UHC group in Mbankomo in the Centre region.

Following the official launch of Phase I of Universal Health Coverage (UHC) on April 12, 2023, the National Technical Coordination, with the support of the Leadership for Universal Health Coverage (L4UHC) Program, has set up Collective Action Initiatives (CAI).
These initiatives aim to mobilize actors and stakeholders around the challenges of implementing this reform of the healthcare system in Cameroon.

According to P4H-CFP in Cameroon, this workshop brings together several officials from the ministerial departments involved (Prime Ministry, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Labor and Social Security, Ministry of Social Affairs, Ministry of Health and Ministry of Planning) as well as development partners (USAID, German Cooperation,) and NGOs (Impact santé Afrique).

The assessment of the implementation of the Collective Action Initiatives (CAI) carried out by the L4UHC team concerns the period from January to May 2024, and the outlook is for a new phase defined between September and December 2024.
