The government of Zimbabwe has received a grant of US$13.7 million to finance the COVID-19 response in the country. The funds are expected to provide an immediate lifeline for targeted frontline responders and health personnel and boost the country’s Global Health Security Index in the wake of the novel coronavirus pandemic. The funds will be used for to Zimbabwe’s COVID-19 response, which aims to mitigate the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on a country which is facing many economic and social challenges.
