Jean-Lambert Mandjo Aholoma, P4H Network country focal person in the Democratic Republic of the Congo

Jean-Lambert Mandjo Aholoma serves as the P4H country focal person (P4H-CFP) for the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), and as the HIV/AIDS focal point for the ILO Country Office in Kinshasa. He coordinates implementation of the Social Protection Floors in the DRC project and that project’s regional component for the African Great Lake region under the International Labour Organization.The project aims to extend the reach of social health protection (SHP) in the DRC. It also works to strengthen the capacity of national actors working on SHP and health financing. Jean-Lambert facilitates coordination and builds consensus on UHC while supporting the Fonds de solidarité en santé (health solidarity fund). Jean-Lambert is also working on establishing an institutional framework for UHC. This includes supporting the drafting of a law related to UHC at the parliamentary level and the capacity strengthening of state actors in agencies such as the Health Solidarity Fund and the General Secretariat for Social Protection.

Coordination of support from development partners

In the DRC, several groups of technical and financial partners offer opportunities to share experiences and information on financing and other support to the health sector. These groups include the development partners’ health sector exchange group and their social protection exchange group, the H6 Partnership and the Joint United Nations Team on HIV/AIDS (JUNTA). Jean-Lambert participates in meetings of the Technical Committee of the National Council of UHC, the Ministry of Labour and Social Security, the Ministry of Social Affairs and the Ministry of Public Health.
