The state has made significant efforts to improve the health sector\u2019s financial situation.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>[\/et_pb_text][et_pb_text admin_label=&#8221;TEXT &#8211; BLOCK 2 &#8221; _builder_version=&#8221;4.21.0&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; custom_padding=&#8221;||1em||false|false&#8221; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221;]<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Health care is free in the public health system. However, particularly in the absence of real strategic purchasing mechanisms, improvements in the provision of health care by the government are expected. And a reduction in direct household payments is also expected. They were 38.5% of current health expenditure in 2021, according to the <a href=\"https:\/\/apps.who.int\/nha\/database\/Select\/Indicators\/en\">Global Health Expenditure Database<\/a>, although National Health Accounts have not been carried out since 2003.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>[\/et_pb_text][et_pb_text admin_label=&#8221;TEXT &#8211; BLOCK 3&#8243; _builder_version=&#8221;4.21.0&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; custom_padding=&#8221;||1em||false|false&#8221; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221;]<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Funding sources for health mainly comprise state budget allocation, flat-rate contributions from social security administrative bodies, and, to a lesser extent, household contributions.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>[\/et_pb_text][ba_gradient_heading title=&#8221;State\u2019s budgetary contributions &#8221; html_tag=&#8221;h3&#8243; primary_color=&#8221;#455A64&#8243; secondary_color=&#8221;#455A64&#8243; admin_label=&#8221;HEADING (50-60 characters)&#8221; _builder_version=&#8221;4.21.0&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; title_font=&#8221;||||||||&#8221; title_font_size=&#8221;26px&#8221; title_line_height=&#8221;1em&#8221; custom_padding=&#8221;||10px||false|false&#8221; hover_enabled=&#8221;0&#8243; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221; sticky_enabled=&#8221;0&#8243;][\/ba_gradient_heading][et_pb_text admin_label=&#8221;TEXT &#8211; BLOCK 4 &#8221; _builder_version=&#8221;4.21.0&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; custom_padding=&#8221;||1em||false|false&#8221; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221;]<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The state budget allocation, which is set each year by the finance laws, increased significantly between 2000 and 2020, with an average annual growth rate of 12.2%.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>[\/et_pb_text][et_pb_text admin_label=&#8221;TEXT &#8211; BLOCK 5&#8243; _builder_version=&#8221;4.21.0&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; custom_padding=&#8221;||1em||false|false&#8221; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221;]<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">For each resident, the state&#8217;s budget allocation has increased almost tenfold in 20 years, from DZD 1,036 dinars per person in 1995 to DZD 9,645 in 2015. In 2023, with an increase of more than 60% compared to 2022, it reached 15,652 dinars, or US$ 114, per capita.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>[\/et_pb_text][ba_gradient_heading title=&#8221;Flat-rate contribution by social security funds&#8221; html_tag=&#8221;h3&#8243; primary_color=&#8221;#455A64&#8243; secondary_color=&#8221;#455A64&#8243; admin_label=&#8221; HEADING (50-60 characters)&#8221; _builder_version=&#8221;4.21.0&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; title_font=&#8221;||||||||&#8221; title_font_size=&#8221;26px&#8221; title_line_height=&#8221;1em&#8221; custom_padding=&#8221;||10px||false|false&#8221; hover_enabled=&#8221;0&#8243; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221; sticky_enabled=&#8221;0&#8243;][\/ba_gradient_heading][et_pb_text admin_label=&#8221;TEXT &#8211; BLOCK 6&#8243; _builder_version=&#8221;4.21.0&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; custom_padding=&#8221;||1em||false|false&#8221; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221;]<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Salaried employees contribute to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/cnas.dz\/fr\/&amp;sa=D&amp;source=docs&amp;ust=1737717843500433&amp;usg=AOvVaw199C1rhanxEsBXagQYF64I\">National Employee Insurance Fund (CNAS)<\/a>, and nonsalaried employees contribute to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/damancom.casnos.dz\/&amp;sa=D&amp;source=docs&amp;ust=1737717843500148&amp;usg=AOvVaw3GrCL4WWB8VBMuREyddeJY\">National Non-Salaried Insurance Fund (CASNOS)<\/a>. Both funds are under the supervision of the Ministry of Labor, Employment and Social Security of Algeria.
