In Belize public expenditure on health accounted for 4.97% of GDP in 2020<\/a> and 13.7% of total public expenditure<\/a> in 2021, while out-of-pocket (OOP) spending on health accounted for 22.8% of total health expenditure<\/a> (2021). OOP is below the Latin America and Caribbean average of 29.9%.
