Liberia\u2019s health system has been deeply affected by its history, particularly the 14-year civil conflict<\/a> (1989\u20132003), which decimated health infrastructure and disrupted essential services. Post-war reconstruction relied heavily on international aid. The Basic Package of Health Services<\/a> was implemented in 2008, aimed at expanding access to essential services, particularly for maternal and child health.<\/p>\n [\/et_pb_text][et_pb_text admin_label=”TEXT – BLOCK 2 ” _builder_version=”4.21.0″ _module_preset=”default” custom_padding=”||1em||false|false” global_colors_info=”{}”]<\/p>\n The 2014\u20132016 Ebola outbreak further crippled the health system, leading to an exodus of health care workers and a halt in service delivery. Liberia has faced persistent challenges in restoring and expanding its health care services. Furthermore, the government conducted a fiscal space analysis<\/a> to explore avenues to expand its health budget. Liberia has implemented performance-based financing schemes aimed at improving maternal and child health service delivery efficiency and equity.
