One of the proposals in the 2021 NHIF amendment bill stipulates that all Kenyans must be registered under NHIF in the new UHC program. However, when this\u00a0news\u00a0broke in mid-February, there was sceptical coverage from the media, and they balked. Much of the uproar was in response to mandatory NHIF enrolment is not popular. Many Kenyans believed that it\u2019s unfair to require all households, including the poor, to pay the premium. The concerns raised by Kenyans warrant reflection. This article therefore, assesses the feasibility of the amendment to achieve UHC.
