However, around 46% of the Ivorian population lives below the national poverty line, and this figure rises to 57% in the worst-affected rural areas1. With a Human Development Index of 0.492 (2017), C\u00f4te d&#8217;Ivoire is ranked among low-HDI countries and 171st out of 1892. Life expectancy at birth is just 53.6 years (2016)3. Through the National Development Plan (NDP) 2016-2020 and the National Health Development Plan (NHDP) 2016-2020, the Government of C\u00f4te d&#8217;Ivoire is firmly committed to the Sustainable Development Goals.
