The Union of the Comoros embarked on a process of reforms to improve the health status of its population in the 1990s, convinced that health is a key component of national development and that health and well-being are paramount objectives. The national health system has been gradually built up through the development of the National Health Policy, 2005-2014 perspective, and the National Health Development Plan (PNDS), 2010-2014 perspective, followed by several national strategies to make it more efficient and more accessible to populations, especially the most vulnerable.
\nGiven the significant changes that have taken place at national and international level, it has proved necessary to define a new national development strategy, entitled Strat\u00e9gie de Croissance acc\u00e9l\u00e9r\u00e9e et de d\u00e9veloppement durable (SCA2D), perspective 2015-2019. The latter aims to accelerate economic growth, strengthen access to basic social sectors, reinforce its inclusive nature and generate decent jobs in order to reduce poverty.
\nAs a result, and given that the current PNDS is coming to an end, the Comorian authorities have undertaken to provide the country with a new National Health Development Plan (PNDS) covering the period 2015-2019, articulated with that of the SCA2D 2015-2019.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
