Health accounts are a tool for systematically, consistently and exhaustively tracking the flow of resources in a country’s healthcare system. In this way, they enable us to assess the efforts made, as well as the relevance and impact of this funding in relation to health priorities. The preparation of the 2015 to 2018 health accounts report is an exercise led by experts from the Ministry of Health and Population with support from the World Health Organization. The methodology applied is the international standard methodology of the System of Accounts (SHA) 2011, making data collected from countries at the same level of development comparable.
