Health policy and systems research (HPSR) investigates the relationship between health policy and systems and determinants of health to improve population health. A study focused on Thailand and Vietnam, develops the framework to uncover the challenges and opportunities for domestic funding pathways.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The study Framework to assess and promote domestic financing for health policy and systems research in Southeast Asia<\/a> by Soonman Kwon, Inuk Hwang, and Juhyeon Moon, aims to develop a conceptual framework and respective survey to assess the state of HPSR and its domestic funding in Southeast Asia by conducting both desk research and field interviews.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The final conceptual framework incorporates six key aspects of domestic funding for HSPR to be assessed \u2013 theme, institutionalization, funder, HPSRI (funding recipients), performance, and core values. Based on this framework, the recent development in HPSR and its funding in Southeast Asian region is remarkable and other countries can draw important lessons from it.<\/p>\n
