This Resolution of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated 12.11.2020 No. PP-4890 is officially titled “On measures to introduce a new model for organizing the healthcare system and mechanisms for state health insurance in the Syrdarya region”. This legal act signed by the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev <\/strong>introduces the phased implementation of health insurance system in Uzbekistan, starting with the first pilot region — the Syrdarya region. This legal act also orders the establishment of the State Health Insurance Fund<\/strong> starting from December 1, 2020, and defines its purpose — to implement and manage of the state health insurance system, carry out the strategic procurement of medical services, financing the guaranteed package of services.<\/p>\n

The Resolution has two attachments: Attachment 1<\/strong> is titled “Concept of the experimental implementation of a state health insurance system in the Syrdarya region” and Attachment 2<\/strong> is a Roadmap (Action plan) for the implementation of the above-mentioned Concept.<\/p>\n

The concept defines the main directions of implementing the state health insurance system while providing state-guaranteed medical care.<\/span><\/span> It is envisaged to pilot the state health insurance system between July 1, 2021, until end of 2022 in the Syrdarya region, and start the gradual implementation in other regions of the republic starting in 2023. The roadmap has 18 activities with implementation mechanisms, timeframes and responsible parties.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
