Aotearoa New Zealand<\/a> has restructured its health system with the aim of addressing inequities in access to healthcare services and health outcomes, particularly among the indigenous M\u0101ori population. In July 2022, two new organizations, Health New Zealand and M\u0101ori Health Authority, were established to centralize the planning, funding, and delivery of publicly funded health services across the country. This study outlines the political and economic context of the reform, the goals and objectives behind it, and the new structure of the health system post-reform. Additionally, it highlights the challenges that have emerged during the implementation of these changes.<\/p>\n
