Mali has made progress in health outcomes such as reduced infant, under-5, and maternal mortality and increased life expectancy, supported by reforms like the 2018 universal health insurance plan. However, access to quality care remains limited due to funding shortages, workforce imbalances, and political instability, with rural areas most affected. The country\u2019s Universal Health Coverage Service Coverage Index score of 41 lags behind both regional and global averages. Afrobarometer survey results show that health is Malians\u2019 top concern, with most citizens lacking medical aid and struggling to afford or access care. Despite these challenges, two-thirds approve of the government\u2019s efforts to improve basic healthcare and express trust in the Ministry of Health.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
