Iran\u2019s health system is undergoing significant transformation. The country\u2019s strong foundation in primary health care, established in the 1980s through community health workers, remains a key strength. Building on this legacy, Iran is advancing toward universal health coverage through several reform initiatives. These include expanding health insurance, reducing out-of-pocket payments, broadening the health benefit package, improving the purchasing efficiency of health services, and enhancing public participation in health decision-making. The Health Transformation Plan serves as the centerpiece of these efforts, and this report evaluates Iran\u2019s key health financing and governance challenges while presenting policy options to sustain progress toward universal coverage.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
